I’ve been chasing light for as long as I can remember... Watching the way golden hour painted everything softer, how shadows stretched and danced with the clouds, how emotion felt different when captured just right. Even as a kid, I was drawn to the way light could tell a story without saying a word.
What started as quiet fascination turned into a lifelong calling. When I got my first camera, I brought it with me everywhere, and then everything clicked perfectly, the emotion, the movement, the meaning. I realized that capturing moments in this form was something I never wanted to stop doing.
Why The Name Avarice Light Photography?
When it came time to name my business, I chose Avarice Light; a name born from the way I’ve always seen the world.
Growing up, I was endlessly fascinated by light. I’d sit by windows just to watch sunbeams shift across the floor, study how golden hour turned everything softer and warmer, how shadows stretched long and graceful in the late afternoon. I didn’t have the words for it then but I just knew it made things feel different. More alive. More magical. That quiet obsession followed me everywhere, and long before I ever picked up a camera, I was already chasing light.
The word avarice traditionally means greed, but to me, it speaks to an unshakable hunger not for things, but for beauty. For warmth. For depth. Avarice Light reflects that insatiable love for capturing glow and emotion not just technically, but emotionally, artistically, and honestly. Because light isn’t just what makes a photo beautiful... It’s what makes a moment unforgettable.
I’m drawn to the kind of light that tells stories without saying a word. The kind that wraps around a couple in their first dance. That slips through lace curtains on the morning of a special day. That lands gently on a tear-streaked cheek on a smiling face or glints off champagne in the air. That’s the light I chase, the kind that holds feeling.
Avarice Light is more than a name. It’s the lens through which I’ve always seen the world and the foundation of every image I create.
The Experience
STEP ONE
LET'S MEET!
After confirming your wedding or event date availability, we'll arrange a call or video chat to get to know each other and discuss the best coverage options for your special day. Or if you prefer, we can handle everything conveniently via email.
STEP TWO
ACCEPT A QUOTE
I will send you a quote so that you can mix and match your perfect wedding coverage package and see the price calculated in real time. I will also send you a few full wedding galleries from similar weddings so that you can get an idea of what to expect your final product to look like.
STEP THREE
CONTRACT & RETAINER
Once you have accepted a quote, I will send a contract and an invoice your way. I ask a 25% retainer be paid to save your wedding date and the remaining 75% balance comes due 90 days before your wedding day.
STEP FOUR
IT'S YOUR SPECIAL DAY!
Before your day arrives, we'll have a follow up chat via email or video call. We'll make sure we are up to speed on the timeline, any formal photo combinations you'd like captured, and anything else I should know before your special day. Then all there's left to do is show up and turn some milestones into masterpieces!
STEP FIVE
GALLERY DELIVERY
I will send you a sneak peek of 15-20 edited highlight photos in a gallery the following week (some couple photos, your first kiss, first dance, etc.) Then remaining photos will be edited and delivered within 4-6 weeks!
